Ethical Harvesting

In 2018 the New Zealand Government moved to introduce official standards for genuine Mānuka Honey. Only Mānuka Honey harvested in New Zealand qualifies for these standards. The standards set quality control parameters for both Mānuka Monofloral Honey and Mānuka Multifloral Honey.

Honey must be tested in an independent registered laboratory.

To be sold as either Mānuka Monofloral or Mānuka Multifloral the honey must meet these strict criteria.

Each batch of Mānuka honey must be traceable back to the hive of its origin.

All honey produced under New Zealand Mānuka Groups brands are independently tested and certified to New Zealand Government approved standards and product fully traceable back to its origin.

New Zealand Mānuka Group hives are all electronically tagged and sites are with GPS so that each batch of honey can be traced back to the place of origin.
